Eisenhower Fellowship for Innovation

1st Oct 2014
Eisenhower Fellowship for Innovation

Congratulations to past pupil Shona McCarthy who has received the Eisenhower Fellowship for Innovation.  This prestigious award presents Shona with the opportunity to spend five weeks in the US where she will visit between six to eight cities meeting with experts and specialists in her field of culture and arts.

The award is given to people of outstanding current and potential achievement.  They are expected to assume positions of greater influence in their professional fields.

While on fellowship, Shona will investigate cultural initiatives focussed on healing historical divisions and innovative arts fundraising techniques.

A leader in Northern Ireland's cultural and arts sectors for over 20 years, Shona most recently served as CEO of the first UK City of Culture in Derry-Londonderry in 2013, a world class program that showcased the city's rich history and culture.  Building on this success, Shona founded The Cultural Trust, a culture and arts production agency informed by the unique context of Northern Ireland
